Reorder Your Collection Plan Steps and Tags

Reordering collection plan steps enables you to change the sequence in which the steps are presented to operators during data collection. Similarly, reordering tags enables you to change the sequence in which tag prompts are presented to operators. The two methods for reordering collection plan steps and tags are both very simple and very fast.

1. In the Administrator window, double-click the collection plan for which you'd like to reorder collection plan steps or tags. This causes the Collection Plan dialog box to be displayed.



2. Since the Step Options tab of this dialog box is displayed by default, if it is a collection plan step you'd like to reposition, go to step 3. If it is a tag you'd like to reposition, click the Tag Options tab and then go to step 3.
   
3. Click-and-drag the collection plan step or tag from its current position to the desired position.



4. Alternatively, you can use the Characteristic Up and Characteristic Down buttons to reposition a step or tag. To do this, first single-click the step or tag. Then, click the Characteristic Up button to move the step or tag up a position or the Characteristic Down button to move the step or tag down a position.
   
   



5. Click OK to save the new order.
