Link a Navigator Button to a Web PageDid you know you can link a Navigator button to a web page? The ability to do this is appealing to companies that publish standards or procedures on an intranet and want their WinSPC users to always have access to the current version of these documents. The simple steps to link a Navigator button and a web page are as follows:
- Create a redirect file. To do this:
- Copy and paste the following line of code into Notepad: <META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="1; URL=HTTP://WWW.WINSPC.COM">
- Replace the URL in your copied code with the URL of the web page to which you want the Navigator button linked.
- Save the Notepad file to a network location that is accessible by your WinSPC stations, naming it NavigatorButtonRedirect.htm.
- Close this file.
- Ensure your WinSPC stations have permissions to access the web page to which you want the Navigator button linked.
- In WinSPC's Administrator window, from the Tools menu, select Navigator Setup.

- In the Navigator Setup dialog box that is displayed, single-click the Navigator button you want to link to a web page.
- In the Navigator Button Setup dialog box that is displayed:
- Delete the content of the Viewer text box. This enables Microsoft Windows to determine a viewer based on the type of file associated with the button.
- Click OK.

- For each collection plan whose Navigator button you want linked to the web page, double-click the collection plan and, in the Collection Plan dialog box that appears:
- Click the Navigator tab.

- On this tab, click the Navigator button you were setting up above.
- If a Confirm message appears, click Yes and then click the Navigator button again.

- In the Open dialog box that is displayed, browse to and double-click the NavigatorButtonRedirect.htm file you saved on your network.
