WinSPC's enhanced Event Log
Log, secure, search, trace & audit your system data
The enhanced event log feature in WinSPC Version 7.1 allows users to log and retrieve nearly all system information associated with activities such as startup/shutdown, security, administration, data collection and violations. (Click here to read about the upcoming release of WinSPC Version 7.1.)
The new enhancements include superior retrieving, sorting, reporting, and filtering capabilities and were designed to support customers, such as those in the Life Sciences industry, with superior product traceability. All enhancements support FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic signatures.
Using the event log feature in WinSPC Version 7.1
To view the event log, from the Administrator window, under Tools, select Event Log.

The Event Log dialog box displays with the Filter tab selected. The selections made on this tab will determine how logged events are filtered in your WinSPC database. By default, all events will display in the event log unless filter criteria are unchecked which will create a more focused view of the data.

In the Date Range pane, by default the new All Dates check box is checked. To narrow the view to specific dates, uncheck this box and either type in From and To dates in the format shown or click the calendar icons and select a date.
In the Severity pane, to exclude errors, warnings and/or notifications, uncheck the respective check box.
In the new Category pane, events may be excluded depending upon their type. These categories include Startup/Shutdown, Security, Administration, Data Collection and Violations Acknowledged.
In the last three sections, Users That Logged Events, Stations That Logged Events and the new Objects pane, events for specific users, stations or objects may be excluded from the view. In addition, these three panes are now displayed using an expandable tree-format for improved ease while viewing and managing the list and for a quicker selection process.
On the Events tab, you can view the logged events that meet the criteria you specify. The event log can display events from the current database or an archived one and can be ordered in either ascending or descending chronological order.
