Tips & Tricks
Efficiently copy parts, variables, attributes, tags, folders or collection plans in WinSPCWinSPC allows you to easily copy parts, variables, attributes, tags, folders or collection plans using a few simple steps. When you copy an item, you produce an exact duplicate of the original without the data. 1. Locate the item you wish to copy. 2. While holding down the CTRL key, left-click on the item. While these keys are pressed, a gray shadow image of the item will appear. NOTE: If there is a box with a plus sign next to the gray shadow image, you are making a copy of the item. If instead you see a blank sheet of paper next to the gray image, the original item is being moved instead of copied. If you do not want to move the original, drag it back to its original location and begin this procedure again. ![]() 3. Continue to hold down the CTRL key while left-clicking and drag the gray shadow image to the folder where you would like the copy to be created. 4. To paste the item, release the left-click mouse button and then the CTRL key. NOTE: If you choose to paste the item into the same folder you copied it from, the new copy will automatically be renamed to include an underscore and a number (for example: Part 1234_1). If you paste the item into a different location, the item will keep the same name as the original item. |
