"When I display the scroll bar in Data Collection, my charts stop updating with new data. What's wrong?"

When a chart in WinSPC has the scroll bar feature activated, the chart is not dynamic (does not update with new data). The scroll bar essentially takes a snapshot of the data at the time it is activated and allows you to scroll and review preceding subgroup data points. To make the charts dynamic again, simply turn off the scroll bar. The chart will automatically update with any newly collected data.

How to use WinSPC's scroll bar feature:

1. To activate the scroll bar within Data Collection, right-click the chart and select Scroll Bar. The scroll bar option
is also available in the Query tool and Plant Monitor charts.

2. The scroll bar is displayed at the bottom of the chart. If you exit out of Data Collection and reenter, a new
snapshot is taken containing any new data, but the chart displayed is still not dynamic as long as the scroll bar
is activated.

3. Right-click the chart and uncheck Scroll Bar to return to a dynamic view of the chart. The chart will
automatically update with new data.
